Betty Roper was born on October 12, 1931 in Murray, Kentucky to Fred and Eurah Parks. She attended WT and graduated with a teaching degree. She taught at Eastridge, Whittier and Puckett schools for many years. Betty loved each and every child like they were her own. She was a devoted and active member of the First Baptist Church she had tremendous faith in God and never gave up even when times were hard and trying. She also donated a great deal of her time to the local Amarillo women’s shelter. Betty will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her son Dan Roper; and her brother’s Charles and Jonny Roper.
She is survived by her son Tom Roper and wife Terri; her grandchildren Andrea and Jonathan Roper; her brothers Gene and David Phillips.
