Arthur was born Aug. 29, 1930, in Seymour. He grew up in Lubbock and moved to Amarillo in 1956. He started his own business in 1963, and was self-employed through the rest of his life. He served in the National Guard in the early 1950s. He had been a member of First Baptist Church since 1959.
Arthur always provided for his family and would do anything for his family. He was an honest and honorable man. He was a quiet, simple man who was very independent.
He really enjoyed working out at the Family Life Center at First Baptist Church. He also enjoyed the mountains of Colorado, where he built a cabin in the 1970s. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Survivors include a brother; a daughter; a son; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two nephews.
