Joseph James Aiello, 87, of Winter Park, Florida passed away on August 29, 2018 surrounded by his loving children. He was born on June 22, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Angelo and Elisa (Elia) Aiello. Joe was a veteran for the United States Air Force. He was a retired Program Manager/Electrical Engineer on the Trident Program for the Department of Defense for the United States Navy. He was a family man through and through who was a sports enthusiast and had a passion for the NY Yankees. In his younger years, he was the former captain of the wresting team for Georgia Tech and played a year of baseball for them as well. Joe played racquetball, tennis and played on the adult baseball team throughout Central Florida. He was a coach for the Maitland Little League and was known for being quite the “jokester!” Joe was preceded in death by his soul mate, Judy Aiello. He is survived by his wife Maria Aiello; sons, Joseph J. (Barry Midway) Aiello, Jr., Edward J. (Kimberly) Aiello; daughters, Elisa Aiello and Deborah (James) Aiello-Verbeke and eight grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 12-2pm, Sun., Sept. 2 at Baldwin-Fairchild West Altamonte Chapel. Service will be at 2pm followed by interment at Glen Haven Memorial Park, Winter Park, FL.
