JinShan was indeed a cherished friend to the NMR community, and he and Connie were personal friends as well.  I had the privilege of working with JinShan when he was first starting his business, sometimes testing his repaired probes in my NMR facility at Nebraska.   I realized immediately what a talented engineer he was, but more importantly what a wonderful human being he was.  It is clear from all of the wonderful memorials here how valued, respected, and cherished was JinShan to our scientific community.

 I have always known him as a pleasant man. In the short time I've interacted with him, he encouraged me to look at problems differently,  usually with an idea in his head....

After the trip 3/7-9/2024 attended Jinshan’s funeral service, I finally could share my memory of Dr Jinshan Wang here. Jinshan was a terrific contributor to the NMR community, he dedicated himself to NMR probe research, development, manufacture, and service for decades and had helped numerous scientists. He has been a respected, dedicated member of the ENC since 1984. I met him at my first ENC meeting when I was a student, and ever since he became one of my most respected senior friends and mentors. I learned a lot from him, professionally and otherwise. After he moved to Orlando, I visited him on holidays or weekends a lot. The most recent one was on the weekend 2/17-18/2024. I arrived after 6 hrs driving and celebrated the new lunar year and enjoyed delicious fish (wish年年有余) prepared by Connie, talked about many interesting things till 3 am, demo how to protect eyes. The last vist was on 3/1-2/2024 in hospital, I talked to him the whole night as he was soundless, but I could feel that he was listening. Jinshan is one of the co-founders, and enthusiastic donor of the OC Magnetic Resonance Association (OCMRA) since 1996. In 2014, OCMRA established the “JinShan Research Excellence Award” in his honor, this is to recognize his outstanding contributions to the Chinese American scientists in NMR field, to carry on his enduring legacy and show our appreciation. Outside his career, Jinshan is a warm-hearted, honest, sincere true gentleman, caring, eager to give, always willing to help. For many years I got close to him enough to say he is also a loving husband of his beloved wife, Connie So Wang. He will be missed by those around him and know him. I would like to express sincere condolences to Connie and all Jinshan’s relatives. We feel the same pain you endure. Farewell, Jinshan, Rest in Peace!

I am extremely saddened by Jin-Shan's passing. Please accept my deepest condolences and make sure to take very good care of yourself! 

Since Jin-Shan's appearance in the ENC in early 1980s, he and I had built a strong friendship enforced by the strong magnetic field between and around us. Jin-Shan was one of the most sincere, passionate, and humble persons I've even known. I very much admire his everlasting dedication to the development of NMR instrumentation. I also very much admire his extreme luck of finding a wife like you, Connie, who is so caring, warm, and intelligent, and has given him every aspect of support. The NMR community is greatly indebted to him for his tireless contributions to the maintenance of spectrometers, especially probes. 

Like a permanent magnet, my friendship with Jin-Shan will certainly last forever, even though both of us had now physically retired from the field of NMR. I will never forget all the good times we enjoyed together with Jin-Shan and you in the last several decades.

I was saddened to learn that JinShang passed away.  I first met JinShang early 1980s in Asilomar during an ENC.  We were roommates in that conference.  Ever since then, we have been good friends for nearly 40 years.  
JinShang had made a significant contribution to NMR field in China.  He was the author of first in-depth NMR textbook written in Chinese, which became the "Bible of NMR", a must-have book for any student interested in NMR research in China. During ENCs, attending scholars from China always called him "王老師“ ( Professor Wang ).  
When we met during ENC, we always chatted for a long time.   I will always remember the warm smiles from him and Connie when we met during every ENC.

My sincere condolences to his friends and family! I only knew Jinshan professionally, but i can't count how many times he helped us out! He was a master of his craft and the North American NMR community wouldn't be the same without Jinshan.

I have known JinShan for many years while associated with the NMR Community. My thoughts and condolence go out to his beloved wife Connie and the entire family. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

It is so sad to know that Dr Wang passed away. I will always remember his kindness and warming personality. Our chinese scholars in the nmr community got to know his name several decades ago and we all benefit from his knowledge. 
 I came to the states in 1999, settled down firstly at UConn. I was so happy to know Dr. Wang was at Quincy,MA. Dr.  Wang and you were so kind and courteously for my whole family, with my wife and a 10 years old son,to go  to your home ,and to bring us visiting Boston around.
I will always miss him so much.   Dear Connie, please accept my condolence at this difficult time.

I have fond memories of JinShan, my condolences to Connie and the family. One of my favorite memories with JinShan  was when we first met. I did not pronounce his name correctly and he said that’s okay you can just call me “James”…. Like “James Bond”. Since that time I always called him James it was an inside joke that we both could appreciate. You will be missed James!

I am saddened to learn of the passing of JinShan.  JinShan was a great friend and colleague and I will always remember him fondly.  I used to hand-deliver NMR probes for repair to JinShan when I was at MIT and Quincy was just a short drive away.  If I was able to time my visit to occur in the middle of the day, we often had lunch together, which was always special.  I also bent the rules and let JinShan bring probes to my facility to test them out in magnets.

JinShan's talent in repairing probes was well-known.  I recall even some of vendors quietly sent him probes that their in-house probe-repair specialists could not fix.  He will be missed.

JinShan was an amazing gentleman who always had a smile and a wave when you saw him throughout our neighborhood.  He will truly be missed and our prayers will continue for Connie, his loving wife, who was always by his side.
