Harry "Bill" William Hewson

Bill was an Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Bill retired from the financial industry serving in the role of Vice President for PNC Bank in Columbus, Ohio before his retirement and move to Longwood, Fl. Bill was a lifetime member of Kiwanis International serving in several leadership roles including the highest position of service to the organization in Ohio. Upon their move to Florida, Bill continued his community service in Kiwanis, and through his membership at First Baptist Sweetwater always putting others before himself.

Bill was born January 25, 1932 to Harry Edward and Kathryn A Hewson in Paterson, NJ. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sisters Elaine (Walt) Stephens and Virginia “Ginny” (Charles) Slagle.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Jean of 69 years and 6 months. His children Becky (Fred) Grimes of Sneads Ferry, NC, Scott (Lynne) Hewson of Louisville, KY and Lori (Tim) Fowler of Magnolia, KY. Bill is also survived by 5 grandchildren; Brian Grimes, Kristen (Stephen) Kimes, Matthew (Emily) Grimes, Whitney (Stuart) Bell and Clay Hewson, and 6 Great grandchildren; Sydney, Makenzie, Holland, Everett, Rylie and Wyatt. Bill was a favorite uncle to several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 7, 2022 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Sweetwater, Longwood. Visitation will begin at the church at 12:30 until the time of service. A graveside service will take place at a later date at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Fl.
