Elsie Forsling Meyers, 89, of Longwood, Florida, passed away on January 9, 2018 after a brief illness. She was born in Indian River County, Florida on December 7, 1928, to Joseph and Martha Forsling, who had immigrated to the United States from Sweden earlier in the Twentieth Century. Elsie graduated from Vero Beach High School in 1946 and thereafter attended North Park College in Chicago, Illinois. She married her late husband, Robert L. Meyers, in Chicago in 1957. They were married for 42 years. Elsie worked as an administrative assistant in Chicago and later as a real estate agent after the couple relocated to San Francisco, California. The Meyers moved to Longwood, Florida in 1981 and Elsie continued her work as a real estate agent in Florida until her retirement. For the past ten years Elsie resided at Village on the Green, a retirement community in Longwood. There Elsie’s charm and grace led her to make many new friends. Elsie was an active member of First Baptist Sweetwater in Longwood. She was a Christian whose love of God and her faith in everlasting life, through the sacrifice and resurrection of her savior Jesus Christ, were known to all who knew and loved her. Elsie is survived by her brother, Walter Forsling of Reynolds, Georgia; her niece Karen Acree of Reynolds; her nephew Mark Forsling and his wife, Susan, of Sandy Springs, Georgia; her great nephew Brad Forsling of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; her great niece Leslie Stalder and her husband, Jonathan, of Roswell, Georgia and their daughter, Caroline.
A memorial service will be held graveside at Highland Memory Gardens, 3329 East Semoran Boulevard, Apopka, Florida 32703 on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10 a.m.
