He was born in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Joseph T. and Hedwig Morris. He was 78 years old.
He grew up on a farm in Eaton, Ohio. He received his B.S. degree in chemical engineering from the University of Cincinnati, and his Master’s Degree at the University of Dayton.
He began his career at Boeing and continued his work at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.
In 1974, he moved with his family to Fairfax, VA and worked for the Department of Interior, Department of Energy and Department of Treasury, in Washington, DC. He specialized in Synthetic fuels and coal liquefaction.
He loved his family dearly, and was an avid gardener who loved working in the yard. He loved nature, birds and animals.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Susan Carol, two daughters, Melanie Fallon and son-in-law Scott Fallon, Jeanne Morris and son-in-law Daniel Shortt, two sisters, Marilynn Drury of Dayton, Ohio and Frances Keyes of North Reading, Mass, and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside memorial service for family and friends at Mount Comfort Cemetery, Alexandria, VA on Thursday, July 31, at 11:00am.
