After graduating from Western High School, Jane was recruited to work for the Central Intelligence Agency, followed by Dictaphone Corporation and later as a contractor. During her first few years of work, she met and then married her husband. They enjoyed a very happy marriage of 47 years until his death in 2000.
Jane was known for her smile and for her love of people. She was an extraordinary artist and watercolor painter. Some of her artwork was commissioned and others hung in local galleries as well as in the homes of her family and friends. She was an engaged member at Wesley United Methodist Church for 70 years. She was a dedicated friend to many, spending countless hours helping those in need, and visiting many in hospitals and nursing homes. She was known for her original Christmas cards and for sending hand written cards and letters for any and all occasions. She was an avid golfer and played in leagues at Greendale and Pinecrest, with the amazing accomplishment of 3 hole in ones during several decades of playing with her husband and friends, far too many to name. She leaves her most frequent golf partner and friend, Shirley McKinley as well as all the many women she loved in her Pinecrest golf league.
Her memory will be a guiding star for all who knew her. In remembrance a gathering will take place on Saturday, July 20 at 2:00 PM at Wesley Methodist Church located at 8412 Richmond Avenue, Alexandria, Virginia where we will honor Jane's enduring impact on our community and hearts.
