She passed away on October 12th, 2024, surrounded by family. She is survived by her loving
husband, Joe, and children, Michael Gilfillan and Lisa Collett (Boris). Her six grandchildren are
also surviving: Nicholas(Kate), Adam (Sarah), and Connor (Michelle) Collet, as well as Emily
(Mark), Aisling, and Lara Rose Gilfillan. Her parents and four siblings predeceased her and her
first husband, Frank Cline, in 1960. Many nieces and nephews survived her, especially her dear
niece Margaret VanFossan.
Cathy spent many years as a registered nurse, working in hospitals around the country. She
was an Air Force nurse in Texas, Iceland, and Dover, Delaware. She firmly believed in
volunteering. She had a great interest in end-of-life issues and worked in hospice care for many
years.
She enjoyed writing poetry and essays, but her greatest love was spending time with family.
They are her precious legacy.
