Rebecca Wade

Rebecca Jean Wade, 64, of Benton, Arkansas passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021. She was born on July 16, 1956 to Leamon and Doris McJunkin. She was a loving wife, mother, and dear friend. She would do anything for others and everything she did was out of love.

Becky retired from Arkansas Children’s Hospital in 2020 after over 20 years of service. She was a loyal and dedicated employee. She truly cared for the wellness of her fellow co-workers, many becoming friends! In her position as Wellness Coordinator, she was responsible for many tasks and events. Becky knew how to plan and organize any event! If she was involved, no doubt it would be done perfectly.

Becky’s values were evident in her life: kindness, integrity, persistence, hard work, joyfulness, and love above all else.

She was funny and fun loving. She loved flowers, the outdoors, sunshine, baking, working puzzles, and holidays, but nothing topped the love she displayed for her family and friends. Becky adored her husband, Jeff. She spoke of him always with precious and loving words. He was always her knight in shining armor. She loved getting together with her Girl Tribe and was always up for a shopping trip to the shoe store! Her favorites to look for were black boots. She loved her black boots!

One of her passions was the Ronald McDonald House. She and Jeff spent many hours volunteering for anything that was needed, including providing a respite home for MAC, the Ronald McDonald golden doodle and Director of Smiles.

Becky was also a member of Ribbon of Hope Cancer Support Group for Women. She had a heart for each member and was always there to talk to anyone who had or was affected by cancer. Becky trusted in Jesus Christ as her Savior and was later baptized at the First Christian Church in Little Rock. Throughout every step of her journey with cancer, she was confident in the care of her Lord and never allowed her circumstances to steal her joy. She had such a genuine and infectious smile and laugh! People loved being around her and she will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Sherill French and nephew Cory Hopper.

She is survived by her beloved husband of almost 47 years, Jeff Wade; son, James Wade; loving sister Joan (Jimmy) Phelan; granddaughters, Victoria and Megan Cho-Wade; father-in-law, James H. (Nancy) Wade; niece, Kimberly Phelan; great niece, Presley Phelan; great nephew, Colton Phelan-Akers; brother, Carl McJunkin; and other in-laws, Jennifer Frazier, Judy Jett and Jerry Wade.

Memorial Visitation: Friday, May 28th, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Funeral Home.

Memorial Service: Saturday, May 29th, 10:00 a.m. at Pinecrest Funeral Home.
