Katie Ruth White entered her Heavenly eternal home on September 28, 2022, at the age of 94. She was born May 27, 1928, at Trout, Louisiana, to Lawson and Selma Flowers. At age 5, the family moved to Chicot County, Arkansas. She graduated from Portland High School. After graduation, she moved to Little Rock to work at the American Legion Auxiliary. Later she worked for Hollis & Company and Landscape Associates.
In Little Rock she met and married her devoted husband, Earl F. (Bud) White. They celebrated 67 years of marriage. They had three children – Janet Hall (Doyce), Dale White (Jenifer), and Kay Binns (Mike). The pride of her life was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers – Lawson Flowers, Jr. and Terrell Flowers. She is survived by her three children; grandchildren – Kaci (Seth) Borin, Mason (Jaynelle) Binns, Kelsey White, Marcus (Tiffany) Binns, and Garrett (Adrienne) White; and great grandchildren – Grant, Van, and Gillian Borin; Maxson and Jarrett Binns; Evelyn Binns; and Ashley Burnett.
When her children were young, Katie worked in PTA, Girl Scouts, and Cub Scouts. Katie loved to sew, crochet, plant flowers, and tend to grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling. She and her husband visited all four corners of the USA, but she thought Arkansas was the best place on earth. She was a lifelong member of churches of Christ.
