Betty Jo Brown (80) entered in the loving arms of Jesus Sunday, December 11, 2022. She was born to Johnny and Marie Hopgood on August 15, 1942 in Memphis, TN. She had 11 brother and sisters. Growing up in Brinkley, AR, she married her Newport boyfriend, Kenneth Wayne Brown. They were married for 43 years before his passing in 2007, just shortly after their oldest son Scott.
Jo worked for 21 years at the Alexander Human Development Center. She said it was one of her proudest moments, because even with the lack of education, she was able to do something that made a difference in someone’s life. She was not afraid to tell you what’s what. She made many friends through her work, but the center of her world was her family. She was extremely proud of her three grandchildren.
She leaves behind her youngest son, Michael (Michelle). Grandson Chris (Lacey); Granddaughter Jessica (Michael); Granddaughter Felicia (Aaron). Her six great-grandchildren Elijah, Baylee, Scott, Ryan, Alyssa, and Rachel.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrections and the life, whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live…” John 11:25.
A private family gathering will be held on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to Midtowne Church Building Fund 4037 Boone Road Benton, AR 72015.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.pinecrestfh.com for the Brown family.
