Louis was born 29 April 1922 in Hodgeville SK. There he lived and worked on the family farm until 1942 when he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. He trained and worked for over 2 Years as an Aero Engine Mechanic on World War 2's most famous engine - the Marlin 2 Rolls Royce. He saw service in SK, ON and NB.
Following the war, Louis settled to the relocated family farm in MB. In Oct. 1944, Louis married Rejane Callarec and together they raised 6 children. Louis and family lived in several small towns in Manitoba before settling in St. Boniface for 12 years. Louis initially worked at General Bakeries in Wpg. but with its closure found employment with Air Canada and with the closing of the Air Canada Maintenance plant in 1969, Louis transferred to Richmond BC with Air Canada where he worked for 22 years before retiring.
In retirement, Louis lived in White Rock , Aldergrove and South Surrey where this became his home for the last 23 years.
Although Louis was a mechanic by trade, those close to him regarded him as "Mr. Fix-it". He enjoyed gardening, woodwork, dancing, playing cribbage and walking.
Louis is survived by his 6 children - Patrice, Claude, Joanne, Eliane, Michelle and Annette and their spouse. Also left to remember Louis are his 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to THANK the staff at Westminster House for the wonderful care Louis received for over 3 years.
