Dailene Newman passed away on September 3, 2022 at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center in Wilmington, NC at the age of 81. Dailene was born in Maryville, TN and resided there until a month before her passing. She attended Everett High School and was a caregiver to many throughout her life. Many will remember her for a few of her delicious recipes including her famous cornbread, chocolate pies, french toast and banana pudding. Wee will all miss her long voice messages and posts about her four legged love of her life, "Opie".
She was preceded in passing by her parents Ralph and Edna Eakes; sister, Dolly Watson; brother, Joe Eakes.
She is survived by her children; Kim (Jim) Fanelli, Jimmy (Tracy) Newman, Tammy Morton, Susan (Scott) Macdonald, twelve grandchildren, Trey, Lauren, Lucas, Taylor, Tyler, Justin, Ashily, Hannah, Paul, Farren, Grayson, Caroline; twelve great-grandchildren, Colton, Brae, Knox, Andrew, Ashlynn, Jaxon, Tripp, Blake, Briley, Bailee, Braylen and Bristol.
The family will honor Dailene with a Receiving of Friends at Sherwood Chapel & Memorial Gardens, in the Good Shepherd Mausoleum Chapel on Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:00pm, Entombment Service will follow directly after the Chapel Service.
