

Brenda Faulkner, age 75, of Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2025. Born with a creative spirit and a passion for design, Brenda left a lasting mark on the lives she touched, both professionally and personally.
Brenda was a proud graduate of the University of Tennessee, earning a degree in Interior Design. After completing her education, she dedicated her career to shaping the spaces around her. She went on to teach Interior Design at her alma mater, inspiring countless students with her knowledge, creativity, and enthusiasm. Brenda eventually founded her own business, Brenda Faulkner Interiors, and also worked as a set designer at ViaTV. Known for her meticulous attention to detail and her warm, personal touch, Brenda’s clients quickly became friends. Her favorite aspect of Interior Design was space planning, where she could help transform homes and businesses into comfortable, functional, and beautiful environments.
In addition to her work as a designer, Brenda was an animal lover, with a special fondness for her beloved Doberman Pinschers. She also enjoyed gardening and had a particular interest in garden design, bringing the same creativity to her outdoor spaces as she did to interiors. Brenda’s zest for life extended beyond design; she was passionate about live music, dancing, and singing, often enjoying the vibrant energy of performances. She also loved to travel and spend time outdoors, always seeking new adventures and experiences.
Brenda’s warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the many clients who had the privilege of working with her. She leaves behind a legacy of beauty, kindness, and inspiration that will continue to touch the hearts of those who knew her.
She is preceded in death by parents James L. Hulsey and Bonita P. Hulsey.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 54 years Dan Faulkner; sister Amy Tyler; nephews Cliff Tyler, Mark Tyler, Mike Faulkner and Russ Faulkner; brother-in-law Frank (Nancy) Faulkner. She also leaves behind numerous cousins and friends.
Donations can be made in Brenda’s name to Young Williams Animal Shelter and Alzheimer’s of Tennessee.
The family welcomes friends for a Visitation, at Berry Lynnhurst, on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 5pm-7pm. Family and close friends will meet at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens Mausoleum on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 1pm for a Graveside Service.
