Martin J. Meacell, Sr. age 82 of Homer passed away Friday, December 13, 2024 in Marshall under the loving care of his family and hospice. Martin was born on December 6, 1942 in Flint, MI. He was son of Lawrence and Esther (Pelkey) Meacell.
On September 6, 1985, Martin was united in marriage to Karol A. (Nowlin) and she preceded him in death on July 9, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Tammy Johnson.
Martin was a hard worker and was employed with Calhoun Foundry for 36 years until his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, hunting for mushrooms and walking his dog. He also loved attending sporting events for his grandchildren and any opportunity to spend time with his family.
Martin is survived by two children, daughter, Tonya (Bill) Wilson of Homer, son, Martin Meacell, Jr. of Homer, 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
According to Martin’s wishes, cremation will take place and a Celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
