Joyce Ann Washington

Joyce was united in marriage to Eugene Jeffrey Washington; daughter, Wanda J. Washington, and sons David R. Washington and Christopher A. Gibson that she loved dearly.

Joyce was a devoted member of the Albion community, serving as a CNA at the Albion Manor for over 25 years and the Albion Housing Commission for 33 years.

Joyce was loved by everyone that she came in contact with, she would give you the shirt off her back. She was a strong, independent woman. She enjoyed bowling, music, giving candy and popsicles to the neighborhood kids and feeding the squirrels. She gave her whole heart in every aspect of life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Jeremiah Richards, sister Gail Watson, and twin sisters Patricia Oliver and Theresa Austin.

She is survived by her children, brother Joe Jackson of Albion, MI, brother Clarence Jackson of Kalamazoo, MI, sister Linda (Oscar) Cleveland of Albion, MI.

She is also survived by many grandchildren. Wanda’s children: Lawrence Hodges and John’toya Washington; David’s children: David R. Washington Jr., Dayana Washington, Danielle Washington, Jayasha Andrew, Dai’Sean Washington, Dai’Jahnae Washington and Jah’Shanae Washington; Chris’s children: Chris Gibson and Christiana Gibson.

Joyce had a host of several nieces and nephews and great, great, greats.

Family hour for Joyce will be held Friday, September 9, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Macedonia Baptist Church, 1010 Chauncey Street, Albion, MI 49224, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM.
