Johnny Frank Roberson

Johnny Frank Roberson age 83 of Kalamazoo passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at home under the loving care of his family. He was born February 14, 1941 in Kalamazoo, MI one of 12 children born to Charlie and Nancy (Holloway) Roberson.

On November 3, 1962, Johnny was united in marriage to Lucille Ann (Neal) in Kalamazoo, MI and she preceded him in death on August 12, 2021 after almost 59 years of marriage. Johnny was also preceded in death by his parents, 10 brothers and sisters, and infant daughter, Dori Christine Roberson.

Johnny was a residential home builder by trade; a trade he loved to teach his family about. He enjoyed working on cars, golfing, bowling, loved playing the lottery, going to the casino and enjoyed lovingly giving people a hard time. Johnny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved spending time with his family, especially the grandkids and great-grandkids. He was also a devoted man of God and loved his church, the Word for Life Church of God in Kalamazoo.

Johnny leaves to cherish his memory 3 Children: Johnny (Samantha) Roberson, Debbie (Mark) Roberson-Loser, Roxann (Ed) Rice, Grandchildren: Josh (Sadie McElwain) Roberson, Stacy (Mike) Roberson-Ames, Mandy (Kerry Spencer) Roberson, Brenda (Victor Branch) Roberson, De (Todd) Poveda, Nikki (Ross) Bell, Jonathan Bechtel, Megan (Jordon) Kelley, Tatum (Brian Parache) Rice, Lauren Rice, 23 Great-grandchildren and brother, Jack Roberson.

Johnny’s family will celebrate his life with a funeral service on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 with visitation at 11AM until the time of service at 12 NOON at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion with Pastor Jeff McNally officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Albion.
