Janet was born March 1, 1949 to Ida Gibson and Wayne Craft in Melvin, Kentucky. She was the oldest of 13 children which kept her very busy in her younger years. Janet married the love of her life, Paul Hall September 12th, 1964 in Clintwood, VA. To this union were born 3 children. After her marriage she moved to Michigan in 1966. She joined the Old Regular Baptist family January 21, 1973 when she gave her hand at the Little Vineyard Church in Eaton Rapids, MI. and was baptized by Elder Lloyd Mullins and Elder Homer Hall. Her husband Paul gave his hand to the church just after they came out of the water with Sister Janet. They were ordained as Deacons that same year. However, in 1975 they felt a calling to move their letters to the Little White Stone Church in Dundee, MI. A few years passed and in 1980 her husband was ordained as a minister and 3 years later was elected assistant and in 1988 put in as the moderator. Janet continued to faithfully serve by his side until her health prevented her from traveling to church. For 47 years she always let her light shine wand was a wonderful example for all to see. Even in illness she reminded those around her that she was ready to go, and if they wanted to go where she was going, they needed to find the Lord and make it right. In the last few years she was blessed to travel and enjoy things she never thought she would do, she took a helicopter ride, flew in an airplane and even went on a couple of Caribbean cruises. Paul and she really enjoyed spending time in Florida and by the ocean. They always looked happy and at ease when they vacationed together. But while Janet enjoyed attending church and traveling to new locals what she enjoyed most was spending time with family. Especially her children and grandchildren. It always brought a smile to her face and joy in heart when they would gather, even during her last few days she was with us seeing family and her great grandson, she was able to smile.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers Gary Younce and Melvin Younce and 1 granddaughter, Crystal Hall. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Elder Paul Hall. Their 3 Children, Paul (Jane) Hall of Battle Creek, MI. Mike (Naoma) Hall of Albion, MI. and Angela (Joe) Havlik of Grand Rapids, MI. 10 brothers and sisters, Sherry Jacobs of Salt Lick, KY. There will always be a special place in our hearts for Jan, a Spouse, Mother, Sister, Mamaw, best friend. We will miss her terribly but take comfort in feeling she has been truly healed, our prayers were answered, she is resting in Paradise in Jesus’ arms. Our God is good, and his plan is not always what we think or expect, but one day we will understand clearly as now Janet does. We say goodbye for now, but by God’s grace we will meet again someday.
