James Robert Allison Sr. age 76 of Concord passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit under the loving care of his family. He was born August 28, 1946 in Dayton, Ohio the son of Donald and Catherine (Loyer) Allison.
James attended Flint Northern High School, Mott Jr. College and served our country honorably in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was employed as an electronics technician at Ford Motor Company from 1967-1986 and then Chrysler Proving Grounds in Chelsea, MI until his retirement.
On September 12, 2009, James was United in Marriage to Nancy Jo Chorba and she survives. James was a member of the American Legion Post 81 in Concord and also a member of the Concord United Methodist Church. He worked on a lot of cars in his day, but didn’t really enjoy it, he did however, love to tinker around with things and get them going.
In addition to his wife, Nancy Jo Chorba-Allison, James is survived by 7 sons: James Allison Jr, Kevin (Nicole) Allison, Steven(Michelle) Allison, Gerald Allison, Alvan Allison, David(Allison) Allison, Scott Allison; grandchildren: Evan, Arabella, Eric, Declan, Aedhan, Makenna, Chase, Justise, Finley, Brodie; siblings: Donald (Mary)Allison, Betty Wright and John Allison, and his first wife Emma. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, George Allison and late wife Debbie (Pickell).
A memorial service to celebrate James’ life will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 with visitation beginning at 10AM until the time of service at 12PM at Concord United Methodist Church, 119 S. Main St., Concord, MI with Pastor Rachel Labram officiating. Full Military Honors will follow the memorial service at church. James’ urn will then be interred at Crestwood Cemetery in Grand Blanc, MI.
