Harley Charlie Reynolds age 80 passed away Friday, January 26, 2024 in Battle Creek under the loving care of his family and hospice. He was born January 14, 1944 in Concord, MI the son of Soloman and Violet (Winchell) Reynolds and they preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a brother Elmer, 2 sisters, Betty Mulkey, Jay Dee Studer, infant daughter, Gerda Marie and his beloved dog, Charlie who he affectionalty named after himself so he wouldn’t forget his name.
Harley served our country honorably in the U.S. Army and was discharged in 1968. He spent most of his life living in and around the Albion and Homer area, but was residing in Battle Creek at the time of his passing. He was a hard-worker and was employed with Brooks Foundry in Albion until its closing, then Manchester Plastics in Homer and finally Hi-Lex in Litchfield. He had a favorite saying during his working years that he never needed a union to secure his job. He was a very funny guy who liked to joke and he would want his co-workers to know that his back still hurt from carrying around the weight of everyone else.
Harley loved his family, especially his grandkids. He leaves behind two daughters, Melissa Mireles along with his favorite son-in-law, Ray Mireles and Jennovee Boatman, 4 grandchildren: Rafael (Maddison LeFaive) Mireles, Alessandra Mireles, Roberto Mireles, Dakota Brown, 3 great-grandchildren: Ava, Bodhi, Genesis, 3 brothers: John “Jack” Reynolds, David Reynolds, Kenneth Reynolds.
According to Harley’s wishes, cremation will take place and he will be laid to rest with military honors in Albion Memory Gardens on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 2:00 PM.
