Farrel Dee Sims

Farrel Dee Sims, age 87 passed away in her home in Albion on Friday, December 1, 2017. She was born April 14, 1930 in Piggott, Arkansas the daughter of George and Cora (Nash) Sims. Dee never married or had any children. She was the last surviving of 11 children born to George and Cora. Preceding her in death are brothers: Bruce, John, T.A., Edward, Wilford and Cecil and sisters: Mary, Bessie, Maxine and Irma Faye.

Dee was a graduate of Albion High School and lived most of her life in Albion. She was retired as a clerk, employed with State Farm in Marshall but was also employed for many years at Union Steel in Albion prior to that. She is survived by many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews.

Dee’s family will celebrate her life on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 1:00 PM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion Michigan with Pastor Allen Henson officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral from 12PM until the time of the service on Wednesday. She will be laid to rest immediately following in Riverside Cemetery.
