Donna Sue Lawton

Donna Sue Lawton age 69 of Mesa, AZ (formerly of Battle Creek, MI) passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 27 2023. She was born July 10, 1954 to Everett and Beulah (Howard) Scott in Lackey, KY. She met the love of her life and was united in marriage to Timothy Lawton on June 24, 1978 and raised two wonderful sons.

Along with her husband Tim, Donna Sue is survived by her sons: Rev. Kevin (Lorraine) Yeager and William Lawton; her grandchildren: Jacob (Sarah) Yeager, Megan Yeager, Noah (MichelleAnn) Yeager, Emerson Lawton, Liam Lawton, and Callie Lawton; her great-grandchildren: Delilah Fegenbush, Devin Fegenbush, Drake Fegenbush, Darla Fegenbush, Ella Yeager, and soon-to-be Elise Yeager; her siblings: Maddleen (Russ) Wales and Deborah (Alan) Luke; and other extended family and friends.

Donna enjoyed her last two years in Arizona with her husband and friends, where she was the Sunspire Activities Director for the past year. She was always seen helping others and giving to those in need. Donna, “Meme”, loved spending time with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She especially loved holidays with family, and her love for cooking was passed on to her grandchildren. Donna loved taking walks, caring for her flowers, going to the gym, doing word searches, and watching “I Love Lucy”. We will all miss her calls on our birthday where she would sing “Happy Birthday” to us (even if we couldn’t answer the phone).

Donna was preceded in death by her parents: Everett and Beulah, and her sisters: Deloris Ousley, Emily Newsome, Theda Hall, Linda Krum, and Patricia Balunas.

Donna’s family is having a visitation at 1pm on Wednesday, October 11th, 2023 at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home - 811 Finley Dr., Albion, MI. The funeral service will be following the visitation at 2pm with Pastor Jay Jones officiating. Burial will take place immediately following in Lyon Lake Cemetery in Marshall, MI.
