(Robbins) Kellogg in Litchfield, Michigan, died January 29, 2017 at U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor.
Carol lived in Albion all of her life. She married Larry Sandusky on September 26, 1959 at the Assembly of God Church, 916 N. Superior Street, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and Missionette girl’s leader for many years. They were married for 57 years.
Carol is survived by her husband Larry, two daughters, Debra Lynn Sandusky (Ron) of Albion and Sharon Ann Bryan (Ken) of Springport; two grandchildren, Krystal Ann Hoag of Lansing and Daniel Charles Bryan of Springport; brother Ken Fox (Helen) of Scotts; two sisters-in-law, Rosie (Bruce) Carr of Arizona and Mary Jane Sandusky of Albion; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
Carol sang in the choir for many years at the new Assembly of God Church built on B Drive N (now Albion World Outreach Assembly) under the leadership of Mrs. Clarence Pedersen. She had many good memories of the Easter and Christmas programs that Mrs. Pendersen directed. She attended that church for over 35 years. Carol was currently a member of the Rice Creek Community Church and served as a deaconess for several years. When Larry became a Pastor in 1992, she then became a pastor’s wife and assumed those duties at the Albion Church of God and the East Eckford Community Church. Carol also worked and retired from State Farm Insurance Company after 37 years of service. She was also co-owner of Fantastic Tans in Albion. She loved to ride on Larry’s 1300 cc Kawasaki motorcycle and made several vacation trips down to the state of Florida and one 28 day trip to the state of Washington down through California. Texas, and traveled through Death Valley and to the Grand Canyon. This was all on the motorcycle, pulling a pop-up tent trailer and Carol reading a book. She was an excellent back seat bike rider and said many times that she could sleep there. She enjoyed seeing people watch her and Larry setting up the pop-up tent trailer into a full size sleeper bed at a campground. In all her and Larry’s travels, over 63 thousand miles were ridden on 5 different motorcycles. She also loved to go for evening convertible rides or take their jeep to Lake Michigan and run the sand dunes, read, do crossword puzzles, play computer games, and camp, play bingo and ride on their pontoon boat at Rockey’s Campground on Gangs Lake.
