Tom was born April 19, 1946 in Albion, IL. His parents were George Thurman Bunting and Hazel Kathleen (Nash) Bunting. He married Linda Merritt May 15, 1970 at the Apostolic Faith Assembly in Albion, IL.
Tom was a road construction laborer for Wabash Asphalt Co. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was of the Apostolic Faith. He was a loving and generous person, who was devoted to his family.
He is survived by his wife; Linda of Albion, 2 sons; Curtis Bunting of Flora, IL, Matthew Bunting of Albion, IL,2 sisters; Joyce Paris of Albion, IL, Patsy (Gene) Combs of Lebanon, IL, 4 brothers; Richard (Shirley) Bunting of Grayville, IL, Gerald (Linda) Bunting of Owensville, MO, Robert Bunting of Oaktown, IN, George Dale (Debbie) Bunting of Bone Gap, IL, 3 grandchildren; Joshua, Allison, and Chance Bunting and 1 great-grandson; Jacob Bunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 brother; Ronald Bunting.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Ingram Funeral Home in Albion, IL. Burial will be in Samaria Baptist Cemetery west of Albion, IL. Although Tom was in the Armed Forces, it was his wishes not to have military rites. Visitation will be Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Ingram Funeral Home in Albion.
Memorials may be to the Samaria Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund; envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
