Raymond A Thornton, age 87, passed away December 13th, 2015 after battling cancer for the past year and a half. He traveled the world as a WWII Navy Veteran, past member of the Summit County Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol, member of the Mason Blue Lodge Akron #83 F&AM 32nd degree, retired from PIE Trucking in 1988.
Preceded in death by his loving wife, MaryLou; daughter Miki Lynnette Simpkins, his parents and brothers.
Survived by his children Billie (Harvey) Esterle, Nancy (Rick) Smith, Laura (Dan) Dickson, Russell (Renee). Grandfather, great-grandfather, and great friend to many.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, December 16th from 2 – 4 PM & 6 – 8 PM in the Catavolos Funeral Home Funeral Service will be Thursday, December 17th at 11:00 AM in the Catavolos Funeral Home 3653 W Market St Fairlawn. Entombment Rose Hill Burial Park.
