He was the beloved husband of Louise (nee: Bowles) Cook, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage in June 2018. She remains to cherish his memory.
He was a graduate of Garfield High School (1962), Eastern Baptist College (B.A., 1966), Northern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div., 1969), and SUNY-Binghamton (M.S. in Accounting,1977). He was ordained as a Christian minister, in June, 1969, and served several churches full time before pursuing further studies. He then was accountant and health care administrator before returning to full time and part time ministry as an interim minister. He loved serving the Lord in both religious and secular capacities and he strove to live by this admonition: "Preach the gospel, use words if necessary."
Larry was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Wadsworth. He was a voracious reader and enjoyed traveling with his wife, especially after retirement.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Memorial Fund at Trinity UCC, Wadsworth or to the American Heart Association
Calling hours will be Sunday, December 2, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 North Lyman Street, Wadsworth, and Monday, December 3, 2018, from 10 to 11 a.m. preceding the Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ, 215 High St., Wadsworth. Service will be officiated by Rev. Adam Marquette. Inurnment at Rose Hill Cemetery will take place immediately following the service. Friends and family are invited to a luncheon at the church following the inurnment.
