Kathy Spencer

She leaves behind her best friend and spouse of 26 years, Tammy Waddell. She is survived by her son, Chad (Heather), her daughters, Samantha Varga (Duane), Simone Spencer (Michael), and her grandchildren, Ella, Chad, Chance, and Claire. She is also survived by her sisters (Laura, Jennifer, Pam, Christine, and Veronica) one brother (Jeff), and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Patricia Jones.

Kathy embodied the fullness of life, giving of herself limitlessly in all she did. An accomplished nurse, Kathy rose to the distinction of Director of Nursing before finding her calling in hospice care, providing comfort for those most in need. Kathy’s free time was spent in the service of her family; whether preparing home cooked meals, or offering a kind word and a gentle touch. She loved fiercely and unabashedly, ensuring those who meant the most to her never forgot it. She will be remembered for her prodigious presence and as a fount of wit and wisdom.

Kathy knew no greater pleasure than spending time with her grandchildren. She viewed the world through their eyes and taught us all that there is nothing more important than the joy we are able to share with a child. Her determination, unwavering support for her family, and most of all—her laughter, will never be forgotten. We are so very thankful for the time we had with her.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 26th from 4:30pm – 7:30 pm in the Rose Hill Funeral Home 3653 W Market St. Akron, OH 44333, where the Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, October 27th at 12:00pm with a Visitation time from 11:00 AM until time of service.
