Joanne Thomas

Joanne loved her family and attended Antioch Baptist Church (Akron, Ohio) where she served as a van driver, a deaconess and supported many other ministries for 30 years alongside her husband, Rev. Clarence Thomas. They volunteered with Food Outreach ministry and dedicated time visiting the sick and shut in. When they weren’t involved in church they spent their time enjoying their children, grandchilden, siblings, nephews , nieces, extended family and friends. Joanne was a person who loved people and always made people laugh and feel special.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rev.Clarence Thomas, whom she loved dearly, and her parents Fannie Mae and Parmalee Davis.

She is survived by her children; Carlene (Otis) McNabb,

Clarence (Renee) Thomas, Theresa Thomas, Sonya Merchant. and siblings, Wilmer (Ruby) Davis, Louise Denson.

She will be missed by her children, siblings, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held Saturday, July 29th

Funeral 10 am - 11 am (Rose Hill Chapel)

Burial at 11 am (Rose Hill Cemetery)
