Bugg was preceded in death by his daughter Stefanie Adams and mother Lorraine Swartz and is survived by his wife of 50 years Mary “Debi” Adams, daughters, Melissa Rizzi (Steve), Amy Drabinski (Tim), sister Reva Hoke (Rodney), stepfather Melvin Swartz, grandchildren Aleksander Rizzi (Kristin) and Nikolas Rizzi (Jordan) and leaves behind many close family and friends.
Bugg was Born on June 27, 1948, in Holden, West Virginia. Bugg was a 1967 graduate of Lenore High School in West Virginia, where he served as Class President. After high school, he was drafted into the US Army and served during the Vietnam War. He was the proud recipient of a Purple Heart Medal and two Bronze Service Stars. After the war, he moved to Ravenna, Ohio where he started his career at the Chrysler Corporation. Bugg worked at Chrysler for 30 years and retired in 2002.
During his tenure at Chrysler, he also operated his own home improvement company, Adams Home Improvement, for many years. He had a passion for renovation and home improvement. Throughout his life he renovated many of his own homes and did many projects for family, friends, and customers of Adams Home Improvement. It gave him a great sense of accomplishment once each project was completed. He took great pride with everything in his life. He felt working hard and doing things the right way was a testament to someone’s character.
Bugg had a great love for the game of golf. Bugg was a scratch golfer and loved spending his time on the course. He was driven to be a skillful golfer, always practicing around the house and at the driving range. Bugg also enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. Bugg made it a priority to make frequent trips to visit with his family and friends back home in West Virginia. He was a great storyteller and was often heard reminiscing of his days growing up in West Virginia.
Bugg had a zest for life, very outgoing and charismatic. Bugg never met a stranger. He loved speaking with people and learning about their lives. You knew he was listening and cared because he always remembered what you told him. He stressed the importance of family and friends and maintained close relationships with everyone throughout his life. He was the person you called when you needed something or were seeking advice. Bugg was always right there to help.
Bugg will be remembered for his love and generous, kind heart. Bugg truly loved his family and friends, and they felt his love. We find comfort in knowing that Bugg’s legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever. He will be greatly missed.
Family will hold a private service at Rose Hill Funeral Home.
