Ernie was born on April 21, 1940 in Akron, Ohio to Alfred and June (Lansinger) Brown. He graduated from East High School and was the class photographer. Ernie had a career for 40 years in the grocery industry. As a passion, he had a wedding photography business for 25 years. His artistic talent in photography and intarsia won him many best in show awards. An active member of Millheim Baptist Church in Springfield Township, he enjoyed being head usher, senior leader, and organizer of the senior trips for many years. In his younger years, Ernie enjoyed dancing at Meyer’s Lake Ballroom where he proposed to his loving wife of 60 years, Cynthia “Sue” (Menkel) Brown. They enjoyed traveling for many years in their RV to Michigan, and the East Coast from Maine to Georgia.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Richard E. Brown.
Ernie will be deeply missed by his loving wife, children, Jeff (Jennifer) Brown, and Jill (Michael) Mattingly, grandchildren, Leah, Andrew, Julia, and Elise Mattingly, sister, Audrey (Steve) Trimble, and multiple nieces, nephews, and friends.
Friends and family may come to call on Saturday, March 19, 2022 from 10-11 a.m. at Rose Hill Funeral Home in Fairlawn. Services will follow at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ernie’s name to the charity of your choice.
