It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Elyse on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident while acting as a good Samaritan. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband Michael and her children David and Jennifer. She is predeceased by her brother Michael and is survived by her brother David and sisters Linda and Arlene. Elyse was born in the Dutch West Indies (Curacao) and grew up in the Scarborough area. She graduated from Trent University (Psychology) and then worked for over 25 years with the Bank of Montreal where she served in a variety of financial positions. Elyse was a lover of nature and loved to hike and bike in and around the north Halton Hills area. She also held a deep fascination for art, music, and literature and the world around her. Elyse was an individual who always put others first and was there for others through good times and bad. Thank you to the staff of the Critical Care Unit and everyone who assisted during this difficult time.
The family will receive friends at the MacKinnon Family Funeral Home 55 Mill Street East, Acton on Thursday, March 8th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A service in Elyses memory will be held on Friday, March 9th at two oclock at Trinity United Church 70 Mill Street East, Acton, Ontario
