It is with shattered hearts that we mourn the passing of our beloved babi & mom, the heart and soul of our family. She passed away on the morning of April 30th, 2024, surrounded by her family and leaves behind a world dimmed by her absence and hearts heavy with sorrow. She was 74 years old.
Daniela was a force of love and light in our lives, a beacon of kindness and compassion. She was born in Slovakia, to the late Stefan and Maria Kula and was the youngest of three. Daniela is survived by her brother Stefan and sister Eva.
From her early days, she was an avid singer and travelled extensively through Europe with her choir. In Slovakia, her career started in urban planning. After immigrating to Canada in 1984, she excelled as a driving school instructor and later on as a bus driver for Mississauga Transit, where her many colleagues became some of her dearest friends. Throughout her life in Canada, she cultivated many deep and meaningful friendships with Kostelnik, Kovac, Novak, Bartalos, Dzamba families and many others.
But beyond her professional accomplishments, Daniela was the heart of our home. Her love knew no bounds, and she poured everything she had into caring for her family. She was our rock, our guiding light, and our greatest source of strength.
Daniela had a passion for life that was infectious. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures - tending to her garden, feeding the birds, or spending innumerable hours outdoors with her beloved dog, Maggie. She had a gift for bringing people together, whether it be through her unparalleled home-cooking or her warm and welcoming presence.
Her absence leaves a void that can never be filled. We will miss her laughter, her kindness & caring, her wisdom, and above all, her unwavering love. But though she may be gone from our sight, her spirit will live on in the countless memories we shared and the love she left behind.
Daniela is survived by her devoted daughters, Luba and Suzana, and her cherished grandchildren – Lucas, Evan, and Emily and a multitude of family and friends who were blessed to have known her.
Daniela may have left this world, but her love will forever continue to light our way. May she rest in peace, surrounded by beauty, and may her spirit soar free, forever in our hearts.
Please join us in her beloved town of Acton, at the Mackinnon Family Funeral Home (55 Mill St. E., Acton, ON L7J 1H4) on Sunday, May 5, 2024. Visitation will be at 2PM and service at 3PM.
