He was born April 20, 1931 in Red Springs, Texas to Walter and Gustie (Montgomery) Miller. He grew up on a farm with four siblings; sisters, Vernice Doyle, Helen Stiles, Betty Hill, and brother, Bob Miller. He loved to tell stories about growing up on the farm.
He graduated from Seymour High School in 1951 and joined the US Air Force serving during the Korean War. He worked in the air conditioning and sheet metal business until he retired. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 57 years. He served as Worshipful Master of H A McFarland Lodge at Odessa, Texas in 1974.
While in the Air Force, he married Bobbye Jo Wright Miller on June 7, 1952, who preceded him in death in 2018.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Hall.
He is survived by a son, Brian Miller and wife Dana of Fort Myers, Florida; granddaughter, Jennifer Perkins and husband Krishna of San Antonio, Texas; grandson Travis Hall and wife Emily of Belton, Texas; and five great-grandchildren, Jackson, Kendal and Ranger Perkins along with twins, Ashely and Miller Hall; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Eugene lived a very satisfying Christian life. He was kind and loyal to all who knew him.
A committal service for Eugene will be held Friday, May 31, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 West Lake Road, Abilene, Texas 79601.
