Her Homegoing Celebration will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 1:00 PM at New Beginnings United Pentecostal Church 5535 Buffalo Gap Rd in Abilene. Interment will follow in Abilene Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening 7-9:00 PM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home 5701 US Highway 277 S.
Ruby was born on January 26, 1937 in Abilene the oldest child born to the the late Earl and Rosie (Davis) Bowen. She was raised in a large and loving family. She worked many years for Hendrick Hospital as a Home Health Aid. She lived many years in Merkel as well. Ruby was a member of New Beginnings United Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and being creative. Ruby was undoubtedly the glue that held her family together. She was an amazing woman of God her memory and legacy will live on.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Buddy Thomas Gann; her two grandchildren, Bobby Dale Phillips and Kelly Michelle Phillips; her brothers, Clifford Eugene Bowen, Herschell Lee Bowen, Lee O. Bowen and Jack Bowen.
She is survived by her sons, Thomas Franklin Gann, Joseph Eugene Gann, and Clifford Wayne Gann; her daughters, Pamela Kay McGough, Velma Rose Phillips, and Jennifer Michelle Grant; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; her brothers, William Earl ”Bill” Bowen and Freddie Lou Bowen; her sister, Judy Mae Porter; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
