Lupe showed her love for others through food. She fed her family, friends and students at AISD, where she worked for over 20 years in food service. One of her greatest wishes was to be a Grandma and considered her grandchildren one of her greatest blessings. She loved all of her family and especially loved spending time with them playing games, particularly Pokeno.
She is survived by her children, Delfino Rodriguez, Jr. and wife Anita, Mary Jane Cardenas and husband Albert, Jennifer Ryan and partner Christina Hollis; step-children, Mike Ryan and wife Gayle, Patti Pettit and husband Mike, Peggy Gaona and husband Tony and John Ryan and partner Ed; siblings, Joe Suarez, Matilda Fant, Gloria Castillo, Diana Puente, Janie Varela and Abraham Suarez; grandchildren, Candace, Priscilla, Kristine, Cecilia, Christoffer, Jason, Phillip, Eric, Samantha, Jaime, Jenna, Britton, Zeke, Amy, Eric, Jessi, Tony, Jr., Steven and Danielle; several great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Delfino Rodriguez, Sr. and Pat Ryan; brothers, Jimmy, Julian, Johnny and Jesse Suarez and other half siblings.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 US Hwy 277 South, Abilene, TX. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, December 16, 2024 at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel with Lance Eastman officiating. Interment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park.
