Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home 5701 US Highway 277 S. in Abilene with Frank Lidke officiating. Interment will follow in the Odd Fellows section of the Abilene Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 5-7:00 PM also at the funeral home.
Cecil was born on April 17, 1939 to the late H.B. and Mary (Nichols) Richardson in Abilene, Texas. He was raised in Abilene where he graduated from Abilene High School. He enjoyed being active in rodeo and cattle auctions. He eventually became employed with Harris Acoustics and began a career installing acoustic ceilings. His work ethic and attention to detail lead him to become the best in that field. He married Jeannie on October 12, 1979; together they created many wonderful memories together. He relocated several times lastly making Red Oak his home to be near family. He was also a proud Cowboys Fan, loved cooking, playing dominoes, being surrounded by his family, and having a good time.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Amanda Richardson; brother, J.B. Richardson; two sisters, Mary Rowe, and Dorothy Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannie W. Richardson, of Red Oak; his sons, Cecil Charles “Charlie” Richardson, Jr. of Red Oak, Cody Richardson and wife, Velma of Waxahachie; grandchildren, Ryan, Miranda, Nicole, Cyle, and Julie Richardson; 3 great-grandchildren, Reid, Covalee, and Charli; a host of nieces, and nephews; other loving relatives and friends.
