Ashley Nichole Rapp, 35, of Abilene, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 in Abilene. She was born on March 3, 1987 in Abilene to Wayland Keith Rapp, Jr. and Janette Rodriguez Barff. Ashley lived in Abilene most of her life and was such a beautiful soul. She had the sweetest heart of anyone you’ve ever known. Ashley was the type of person that would do anything for you if you needed it. She loved her family more than anything and being with them was so important to her. Ashely lived life on her own terms, right or wrong, and did the best that she could with life’s ups and downs.
Ashley’s greatest accomplishments in her life were her two boys, Dae and Xzavier. No mother could love her boys harder than she loved them. She loved her mom to the end of the world. Even though at times they butted heads about life, Ashley always knew no matter what, her mom was always there for her. One of Ashley’s biggest joys was going to watch her son Dae at his sporting events. She was for sure a proud momma. Dae, she was so very proud of all you have accomplished and just know, she will always be watching over you and your brother.
Ashley has left a huge emptiness in all of our hearts. Although she is no longer here physically, we have peace knowing that she is in the eternal arms of her Heavenly Father. As her son Xzavier says, “my mommy is now a soldier of God.”
Ashley leaves behind her mother, Janette Barff and step-father Hank Barff; sons, Dae Rapp and Xzavier Demetrius Rapp; brother, Gerrett Ruthedge and wife Caroline; sister, Belite Denise Ford and husband Corey; grandfather, Wayland Keith Rapp and wife Leona of Burleson, TX; aunts, Gennie Dennis and husband Matt of Burleson, TX, Ruby Hubbard and husband Jerry, Melinda Jimenez and husband Peter and Jeannie Bower; uncle, Gary Rodrigquez; nieces and nephews, Zoe Ruthedge, Blake Ruthedge and wife Kyra and their son Silas, Kevin Mitchell, Cordaysha Daynise Lyons, Corday Desmont, Corynn Da’Nae Lyons and Corey Desmont Lyons; cousins, Cassandra (Cassy) Newman and husband Ty and their son Jordyn, Andrew (Andy) Hubbard and his sons Jered and Austin, Valarie Ivester, Heather Melcher and husband Macerio and their son Josiah and Bobby Iverser; several very close friends. Ashley was preceded in death by her father, Wayland Keith Rapp, Jr., grandmothers, Lana Sheryl Lowe Ford and Mary Ellen Rodriguez; grandfather, Robert Rodriguez; godfather and best friend in the world, Randy Smith.
