Stan grew up in Montreal, Que. where he met and married Millicent. They had one son – Lindsay, and two grandsons – Matt & Kris. A year ago, Stan became a great Grandfather. Stan was proud of his son and grandsons. He was happy to be a great Grandfather to Sophia as well.
Stan & Mil enjoyed many travels together and were married for 61 years. They moved to B.C. in 1982 after retirement, to be closer to their son, Lindsay.
Before Stan was married, he joined the Army, and because he worked in telecommunications, he was sent to be a signalman. He was to leave for overseas in a week, when World War II ended.
Stan’s interests included trains & model railroads, building models of planes, cars, boats & trains, woodwork projects. His grandson, Matt, has a train made of wood with the letters of his name that he treasures today. Stan enjoyed the occasional outing to the casino, and buying scratch tickets.
Stan will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Mil, and the rest of the family.
Funeral Service for Stanley Armstrong will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Chapel, 2310 Clearbrook Road on Tuesday, August 17 at 2 p.m.
