Michael was a man of unwavering integrity and kindness. He dedicated a large portion of his life as shop Foreman with VersaCold Logistic Services in Abbotsford BC, as well as a real estate agent earlier in his life where he was very well respected and deservingly regarded as a loyal and committed individual. His unwavering posture towards ethical virtues and honesty extended beyond the workplace, as he maintained his strong character and moral code.
Michael loved many sports; however, hockey and football garnered the majority of his viewing attention throughout his life.
Whether making sure he had his favorite jersey on in support of his favorite team while gathering with family and friends, or tending to the various tasks around the family property, he found solace in being of a servant mind when communing with loved ones.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Joanne, with whom he shared 30 years of marriage and his sister Karen. Their 5 children Richelle, John, Rick, Tammy and Priscilla remember him as a dedicated and encouraging father who instilled in them the paramount importance of family and the role of a loving commitment to that family during all of life's seasons, including periods great victory and success to periods of great struggle and loss. In addition to his 5 children,15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren are also among those who could call him grandpa.
Michael's legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the lessons he imparted, the family he cherished, and the many friends graciously blessed to have known him. As we bid farewell, let us remember his gentle smile, his love for family, and the way he made life a little bit brighter for those around him.
The family will be attending a graveside service at Maclure Road Mennonite Cemetery, 33976 Maclure Road, Abbotsford, BC on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. PDT. Everyone is welcome to attend. There will be a celebration of life at his family home located at 7298 McClure Street in Mission, BC. All individuals who wish to attend the celebration of life are wholeheartedly welcomed and encouraged to arrive at the family home anytime after 1:00 p.m. PDT.
The family also wishes to relay the intended "spirt" of the reception event is aimed to be that of a casual "backyard BBQ" approach. Attendees are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverage of choice as well as lawn chairs.
