In her early years, Linda lived a life of adventure, pursuing her passions with zeal and dedication. In her youth, Linda was a ski instructor, race car driver, psychiatric nurse, and secretary for the B.C.Q.H.A. After pursuing higher education as a mature student in her 40's, she found her calling in teaching and eventually retired from the University of the Fraser Valley's International Education Department. Her work and adventurous spirit led her to travel the world, eager to explore new places and cultures.
Linda was a devoted grandmother who adored her grandchildren with all her heart and loved spending time in the Chilliwack River Valley with her family.
In her free time, Linda loved to read, paint watercolours, go antiquing and lunching with friends and spending time in her garden.
Linda is survived by her great-niece and close friend Sharron Young and children Kelly Brown (son Quinlan) and Steph Brubaker (husband Glenn and children El and Baiya), who know that Linda's spirit lives on in all of us, and we will carry her love with us always. Linda's hard work and determination were an inspiration to us all. Though we will miss her deeply, we take comfort in knowing that she is at peace now.
Linda's celebration of life is on May 20, 2023, 2 pm at the Clayburn Village Schoolhouse. 4315 Wright St, Abbotsford, BC.
Please RSVP [email protected] if you will be attending so we may plan accordingly.
