He was predeceased by his parents Bill and Lois Ferris and stepson David Massey.
Survived by his loving wife Valerie Massey of 42 years. Ivan has 10 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren from his family and the amazing, blended family as well as many wonderful relatives and great friends.
Ivan’s working career started at a young age. At around 10 he had a paper route. In rain, sleet, hail and snow the paper must be delivered. Pretty hard for a 10-year-old riding his bike with a load of papers. Ivan graduated from Abbotsford Senior Secondary School on June 30th, 1966. He worked up in Clearwater logging sending his brother a $5.00 cheque for his birthday and moved on to Abbotsford Lumber for a while then he started with Bud Dionne. He retired from Silverstone Excavating as an Excavator Operator. Special shout out to Rob and the boys. Thanks for the good times and great memories.
Ivan loved to play sports, he played softball for the Legion and soccer for Bradner. He could write Calligraphy extremely well which was a feat for a left-handed person.
Ivan will be deeply missed by all who loved him but will live on in our memories and stories for years to come. Always in our hearts.
