Our historic cemetery in Annandale

In 1963, the family estate of long-time Fairfax County resident, George Simmons, was sold to a small firm of developers who saw the need for a family-oriented cemetery open to people of all backgrounds, traditions and faiths.

The office at Pleasant Valley Memorial Park stands on the same site as the original homestead, surrounded by 5 towering black walnut trees.

Notable burials

Pleasant Valley Memorial Park marks the final resting place of many local dignitaries and socially prominent Virginia names. We enjoy recognition by the Fairfax History Commission, with a plaque denoting the re-interments of 10 slaves from the county’s Guinea Road Cemetery. Today, we provide a quiet space for reflection where all families can find respite.
