History

In 1987, funeral directors Robert Hairell, Nancy Witte and Michael Biehunko decided that South Texans needed more options in funeral homes in Victoria, Texas. Guided by the motto ”Friends You Can Trust,” the trio built Rosewood Funeral Chapels from the ground up. They pooled their strengths to draw on their combined talents, focusing on providing care for families at a sensitive and emotional time.

Adapting to the Victoria community

As South Texans’ expectations of funeral services evolved, the trio soon earned a reputation for adapting to changing needs in excellence. As Texans’ acceptance of cremation grew, Rosewood recognized another way to meet families’ needs by offering interment of cremated remains to the Victoria-Port Lavaca area.
