A beautiful new Midland funeral home

Opened in 2022, our brand-new funeral home has an abundance of modern amenities and Texas hospitality. With contemporary design and modern amenities, Ellis Resthaven Funeral Home is a beautiful place to celebrate your loved one. Whether you want an intimate service or a grand remembrance, our versatile chapel allows families to honor loved ones according to their beliefs, values and traditions. With seating for up to 200 guests, it can be easily configured to your needs and wishes.

Interested in hosting a reception? The hospitality room seats about 70 guests. It has a stone fireplace and a comfortable patio for indoor-outdoor gatherings. To make things easy for families, we offer catering before or after a service.

We designed the building with the latest technology. State-of-the-art AV equipment allows for personalized memorial tribute videos, slideshows and music. Restrooms are touchless. We are also handicap accessible and offer ample parking.

Veterans memorial

For more than 60 years Ellis Resthaven Memorial Park has been a burial choice for the men and women who serve our country in the U.S. military. One of our greatest honors is hosting the Midland Armed Forces Memorial, which commemorates more than 500 veterans from all branches of the military.

History

Covered wagons, cattle, wind and dust greeted Newham Ellis when he first arrived in Midland, Texas. He immediately found his niche, serving his adopted community as an apothecary before he opened Ellis Funeral Home in 1892.

Newham’s son, Newnie W. Ellis Sr., and his grandson, Newnie W. Ellis Jr., carried on the tradition of providing exceptional care to families seeking funeral arrangements in Midland.

Our cemetery's history dates back to 1949, when W.O. Worley Jr. and his wife founded Midland's Resthaven Memorial Park. Their commitment to West Texas families established the cemetery as a peaceful place of permanent remembrance. The cemetery grew in tandem with the Midland-Odessa area.

Today, the entire team at Ellis Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park proudly upholds the Ellis family’s long, strong commitment to providing dignified and affordable funeral and cremation services. In 2022, a new funeral home facility was built on the cemetery grounds, giving families the convenience of planning a funeral, cremation and burial all in one place.
