At Young’s Funeral Home, we understand the unique needs of America’s veterans and their families. As a Level Four Founding Community Partner with We Honor Veterans, we are honored to serve our nation’s heroes and take this responsibility seriously. We have taken steps to ensure our staff is knowledgeable of all the benefits available to military veterans and their families.

In addition, we host community events annually in honor of our veterans and work closely with local veterans organizations. With respect, integrity and dignity, we will walk you through the steps of creating a veteran’s memorial service that truly honors the life and sacrifice of your loved one.

History

Our founder, Graham Stewart Young, received a Doctor of Mortuary Science degree from the San Francisco College of Embalming on June 25, 1936. In March 1939, Graham and his wife, Carol, rented a house on Main Street in Tigard, Oregon, to start Young’s Funeral Home.

On September 13, 1965, Graham and Carol built the current Young’s Funeral Home on land that was once a dairy farm owned by the Randolph Hoffarber family. The Young’s sold the business to their son, Lewis, in the early 70s. Then in 1976, Lewis sold the business to Robert and Carolyn Deuth, who operated the business until 1996.

Our reputation for providing excellent service has grown throughout the years. Today, we are honored to be a member of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers.
