Acerca de

Anderson Funeral Home is warm and welcoming, and our staff is experienced and compassionate. We know losing a loved one is hard, and we’re here to guide you through every step of planning a funeral, cremation or memorial. Serving the communities of Franklin, Springboro and Carlisle, we are your friends and neighbors, and we are always ready to listen and help. Funeral service options have evolved in our many decades in business, but our commitment to high standards remains unchanged. Our funeral home appeals to all cultures and religious backgrounds to bring peace of mind to families from all walks of life.

A modern Franklin funeral home

Sitting Area at Anderson Funeral HomeAnderson Funeral Home on East Second Street in Franklin is a comfortable place to plan a funeral service. With a range of modern amenities, the funeral home has a contemporary chapel with flexible seating for about 100. Designed and decorated like a personal residence, the funeral home has a working fireplace and a grand piano in the foyer. With manicured lawns, plenty of parking and ground-level access, the funeral home shows that the Anderson family understood that importance of details.

Anderson Family Life Celebration Center

Reception Room at Anderson Funeral HomeLocated adjacent to the funeral home, our Life Celebration Center is a community gathering place for funeral and cremation receptions and more. At 8,000 square feet, the building is filled with natural light during the day. It opened in 2012 and is used not only for post-service meals, but also for birthday parties, wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, graduation parties, family reunions and other special occasions. A total event space, the Life Celebration Center has a catering kitchen, table seating for up to 100, a covered patio and a walled garden. Families who plan funerals at Anderson Funeral Home appreciate that they can walk to a beautiful and convenient space to spend time with family and friends sharing memories and beginning the healing process.

Private on-site cremation

The Life Celebration Center also holds the Anderson crematory, which provides cremation services for all three of our locations. A private, on-site crematory means your loved one never leaves our care.

Not everyone knows that there are many cremation options. If you are interested in cremation, the funeral home team can explain the process and the different memorial options. From a direct cremation without a service to a full memorial service before or after the cremation, we help you understand this increasingly common choice.

A service-oriented team

Front Exterior at Anderson Funeral HomeWe are proud of our facilities, but the truest strength of Anderson Funeral Home lies in our caring staff. We focus our every effort on service above expectation, and we are always looking for ways to add value for families and do more for the people we serve.

A few examples of our dedication to your care and comfort: We offer a family car for every funeral, our team transports funeral flowers and plants to your home or another location after the service, and we provide grief support long after a service is over. But perhaps the most unusual—and welcome—service we offer is a tradition owner Charles Anderson instituted years ago.

We send every family who has lost a loved one a chicken dinner the evening after they call or come see us. It’s a small gesture that over the years has touched hundreds of lives. “I can’t tell you how grateful people are to hear, after they’ve spent time making funeral arrangements, ‘I’ve got one more thing to give you,’ and then they receive a roast chicken with all the accompaniments,” Charles says. “Or when someone calls and we have their address and the first touch they have with us is dinner? That’s powerful.” And it’s just one of the ways Anderson lives up to a long reputation for treating people with exceptional care.

What’s more, staff members are engaged members of the community. Many of us were born and raised here and are devoted members of church and civic groups. At the funeral home, we facilitate a variety of programs for our community, including a Valentine’s Day event with a local author experienced with grief, a clergy appreciation luncheon with a guest speaker and baseball tickets giveaway, a Veterans Day event, and a terrifically popular Donuts with Santa program that includes free photos with everyone’s favorite jolly old elf. All of the events take place at the Anderson Life Celebration Center on Commerce Center Drive.

History

In 1942, Guy Anderson purchased the Schraffenberger Funeral Home. Shortly after that he added his last name to the business name. His dedication to caring, personal services for families who had lost loved ones brought him success. At one time he served the Cincinnati area with five locations.

As the family’s business expanded, Guy’s sons, Bruce and Charles became licensed funeral directors and joined the company. Charles’ dedication to funeral service and his entrepreneurial spirit compelled him to strike out on his own. In 1980, he purchased Eaton Funeral Home in Franklin from Robert P. Eaton. Eaton began serving Franklin right after World War II. In 1983, he bought Unglesby Funeral Home in Springboro from Charles Unglesby. It was one of the oldest businesses in Warren County. These locations operate today under the name Anderson Funeral Home.

Today, the Anderson group of funeral homes founded by Charles also owns the Anderson Breitenbach Funeral Home in Middletown. It was previously the Breitenbach McCoy Leffler Funeral Home.

In 2019, all three locations joined the Dignity Memorial® network, the largest group of licensed funeral service providers in North America, and Charles’ daughter Rebekah and son Tyler continue to uphold their father’s dedication to the families of southwestern Ohio. We are always here for you when you need us.
