The professional funeral and cremation services offered by our staff are available in our funeral homes, at a place of worship or in a cemetery or crematory. In addition, we are able to assist with other details including flowers, obituaries, memorial remembrances, monuments and inscriptions.We can also arrange any food and beverage needs through a 3rd-party caterer.

History

Believed to be among the oldest businesses in Long Island, New York, O.B. Davis Funeral Homes was established in 1858, when E.A. Raynor acquired the business from Ambrose T. King, the local undertaker and cabinetmaker in the historic village of Port Jefferson. Upon the death of E.A. Raynor in 1914, his partner, Orlando B. Davis, took sole ownership of the funeral home and served the Port Jefferson community until his death in 1927. In 1935, his family incorporated the business and separated their undertaking services from the furniture business.

Growing with Long Island

Seeing the need for a larger facility and sticking to their roots in historic Port Jefferson, the Davis family relocated their business to its present-day location: the eminent Federalist-style building located at Nesconset Highway and Terryville Road in Port Jefferson Station.

Upon the passing of Ronald Leroy Davis in 1972, the Davis family sold the business to George M. Conway, a 3rd-generation funeral director from the Conway Family of Jackson Heights, Queens. He took the opportunity to expand O.B. Davis Funeral Homes and acquired Regan-DiPaola Funeral Home in Centereach, New York in 1976.

The latest addition to the O.B. Davis family of funeral homes came in 1990 when the Conway family opened a new location in Miller Place, New York. In 1999, O.B Davis proudly joined the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery providers.
