One of the newer funeral homes in the rapidly growing southwest region of Las Vegas, Palm Southwest Mortuary is located in the Rhodes Ranch neighborhood, just a mile off the 215. With a spacious, state-of-the-art facility and a caring staff, we are here for you when you need to plan a funeral or cremation—and we are experts in celebrating life in unique, personalized ways.

With attention to detail, we take care of every little thing for your family, so you can focus on remembering your loved one and being with one another.

A modern, easy funeral home

Lobby at Palm Southwest MortuaryWith a designer interior and lots of natural light, the funeral home is bright and welcoming. At the center of our lobby is a freestanding natural stone fireplace that creates the perfect indoor space to visit with loved ones before or after a memorial service. During cooler months, the patio is a lovely spot to reflect.

Our fully equipped kitchen has oak cabinets, granite countertops and a stainless steel refrigerator. We work with licensed, professional caterers to plan all types of gatherings, before or after memorial services. This can range from a simple beverage service with snacks to a formal meal at breakfast, lunch or dinner.

The beauty of our venue isn't its only draw. Compared to many Las Vegas hotels and country clubs, we're often much more affordable.

An elegant and versatile chapel

Premium venue at Palm Southwest MortuaryOur chapel holds up to 160 guests and is a truly customizable space. Large windows allow natural light to stream in during services. New audiovisual equipment gives families the opportunity to display a memorial slideshow or video.

The coffered ceiling is a highlight, and pink stone columns complement the stone wall at the front of the room. A patio is accessible from the chapel. You can even leave the patio doors open during the cooler months to allow gentle breezes into the space.

Personalized funerals and celebrations of life

Every person has a unique life story, and we are experts at creating memorable tributes. We take the time to get to know you and your family so we know just what to do to create something truly special.

Celebration of life memorial at Palm Southwest MortuaryDid she often try her luck at the city’s many casinos? We can host a poker night in the chapel and give guests personalized decks of playing cards as mementos. If he had a passion for racing, we could drape his casket in a checkered flag and hand out key rings as mementos. If you can name it, we can probably do it.

We find inspiration almost anywhere. Just leave the details—no matter how big or small—to our imaginative team.

Las Vegas cremation services

Signature Dedication at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home & ParkThere are many options for cremation in Las Vegas—and they're not all equal. We specialize in cremation services that honor loved ones in personalized ways. With expertise in scattering ashes and a friendly team who pays attention to every detail, we provide service that is second to none.

More and more people are choosing cremation over traditional burial, but most aren’t familiar with the many options:

  • a cremation without a funeral or memorial service of any kind.
  • a funeral with your loved one present, followed by cremation.
  • a cremation followed by a scattering, cemetery memorialization or celebration of life—or all three.

For those who wish for something more momentous, Neptune Memorial Reef is an underwater cremation garden off the coast of Florida. A Celestis Memorial Spaceflight takes ashes into space for a little while or forever.

Anna Roberts Park establishes Palm Funeral Homes

Outdoor patio at Palm Southwest MortuaryAnna Roberts Park founded Palm Funeral Home in 1926 on the corner of First Street and Carson Avenue, where the Golden Nugget stands today. Originally from Pennsylvania, Anna arrived in Las Vegas in 1911 when she was in her early 20s. She'd been living in Bakersfield, California, working as a cook in a boarding house when she met her future husband William Roberts. A savvy woman, Anna helped William run various business interests.

In 1912, she embarked on a cross-country journey to finance a lime and gypsum quarry near Sloan, Nevada. Anna’s efforts were very successful. She came back to Las Vegas $64,000 richer—that's around $1.6 million when adjusted for inflation—and the quarry was opened. The Nevada Lime and Plaster Co. (founded by her husband) is still in operation today.

During this time, the couple also owned and operated the People’s Store, a general store on Fremont Street. They traded dry goods for basketry and other crafts made by the Paiute Indians.

In 1915, Las Vegas’ undertaker was jailed briefly and subsequently run out of town. With the former undertaker gone, William saw an opportunity and opened the Las Vegas Undertaking Co., which drew on skills he learned from a former career. Anna learned on the job but eventually sought formal training in Los Angeles in 1920 while William ran the business.

When she came home in 1925, she discovered that her husband was unfaithful and promptly filed for divorce. William left Las Vegas while Anna stayed, and in 1926, she opened Palm Funeral Home, named for a single palm tree in her yard. As a trusted funeral service provider, Palm Funeral Home won a contract to bury workers who died during the construction of the Hoover Dam.

In 1946, Anna sold the business. Throughout our history, we've made it our mission to carry on Anna's commitment to serving Las Vegas families with the highest degree of compassion, respect and attention to detail. Today, we are a proud member of the Dignity Memorial network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers.
