Families also receive guidance on writing obituaries, selecting photographs for slideshows, and deciding on visitation hours. Decades of funeral service in Lynn

With a history in Lynn that spans nearly nine decades, the Cuffe family has provided compassionate, personalized care to Massachusetts families since 1934. That year, Walter A. Cuffe Sr. opened his first funeral home on Johnson Street, later merging with one of the oldest funeral homes in the area, McGinn Funeral Home, on Maple Street, in 1976.

Over the next 15 years, the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home underwent various expansions, making it one of the largest and most complete facilities in the Massachusetts North Shore. Today, the team at Cuffe-McGinn carries on a tradition of providing exceptional service with attention to detail to families in Lynn and surrounding communities.

History

The late Walter A. Cuffe, Sr., and his son, the late Walter A. Cuffe, Jr., provided service to their community for almost six decades.
The elder Cuffe first established his home on Johnson Street in Lynn in 1934 and then, in 1976, merged his home with the McGinn Funeral Home located at 157 Maple Street.

The McGinn home itself was one of the oldest in Lynn, having been founded by Lawrence G. and William E. McGinn.
The Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home on Maple Street was expanded in 1981 and again enlarged in 1992, making it one of the largest and most complete facilities on the Massachusetts North Shore.

The Funeral Home today is a proud member of the Dignity Memorial family, the largest funeral provider, which brings many benefits to the families we are privileged to serve. We take great pride in carrying on the Cuffe Legacy of taking care of families with the best service to the residents of Lynn and it’s surrounding communities.
